Richmond Veteran Golfers have been a dominating force this year, having taken out the 2015 Heritage Cup in November.
The culmination of a year’s playing consistency coupled with challenging on-course conditions, has seen our Vets beat Penrith, Wallacia, Leonay, Stonecutters, Springwood, Dunheved and Glenmore, to secure another club of the year victory.
To add to the accolades Richmond’s Kim Gersbach also won the female player of the year.
This is the fifth Heritage Cup win for Richmond, the competition having begun in 2009.
President of the Richmond Vets, Jim Lyons, said the year’s schedule sees each of the clubs play one game at their home course, with each game consitising of 18 players from each club.
“Winning is becoming a bit of a habit for Richmond,” he said.
“Kim Gersbach was extremely pleased to have won the Ladies Player of the Year particularly as she has only been playing golf for two years.”
In 2014 Richmond won both men’s and ladies players of the year with Betty Hudson and Jim Lyons.
