Eclectic Competitions May 1st – October 31st

An Eclectic Competition is a multiple round golf tournament that results in one 18-hole score per player.

Three eclectic competitions will be held in 2018; a Saturday, Wednesday and Friday eclectic. The competitions will be held from May through October, running in parallel with the normal Saturday, Wednesday and Friday competitions.

For those members who have never played in an eclectic competition before, each golfer plays a number of rounds and compares his or her scores on each hole per round. The lowest score made on each hole is recorded, producing an 18-hole (best of each hole) score.

For example, let’s say the eclectic is made up of three rounds. On the first hole, the golfer scores a 6 in round 1, a 7 in round 2 and a 4 in Round 3. The lowest of those three scores on the first hole is a 4, so that is the golfer’s eclectic score for that hole. The lowest score on each hole in every round is the player’s eclectic scorecard.

Run your own scorecard!  The club’s competition software will automatically update the scores, but if you want to run your own scorecard spreadsheets will be available to download from 2 May for each Eclectic competition. Leaderboards will be displayed regularly on the Noticeboard, the website and App.

Gross and Nett winners at the end of each competition will receive a $250 voucher. Gross winners cannot win the nett as well. Half of the player’s handicap as at the start of the last round shall determine the player’s handicap for the Nett Event.

The Australian Countback System will be used to decide any ties.

You have to be in it to win it so register to compete in the Eclectic Competition now!

Entry sheets will be posted on the club noticeboard in the bar. After the first round, entries will be accepted at any time during the competition period.

The Entry Fee is a once-off $10 and covers all three eclectic competitions. The Fee is payable at the pro shop prior to a player joining the competition. Any scores returned by a player prior to entering the competition do not form part of their eclectic score.
