Richmond Golf Club & Course
Situated next to East Richmond Railway Station, Richmond Golf Club has memberships to suit the avid golfer, ladies, juniors and cadets as well as catering to all golfers, from social groups and beginners.
Set against the back-drop of the Blue Mountains, the town of Richmond has a genuine village feel about it, and it is this feeling of belonging that can be found at the Richmond Golf Clubhouse.
The Richmond Golf Club celebrated its 110th Birthday in 2007.
Golf was first played at Richmond, on the Hawkesbury River, in October 1897 by CT Musson, Rev. I Fergusson, EN Street, FG Neilly, HO Busby, C Cameron and JC Icely.
A 9-hole course of 3,040 yards was laid out on or about the course as it exists today, and it was from this beginning that the Richmond Golf Club was formed on 15 March 1899.
The first male members and lady members were T Charley, Rev. C White, Rev I Fergusson, CT Musson, , EN Street, FG Neilly, G Collet, R Weir, G Bowen, TJ Vindies, E Campbell, C Lawson, Paterson, H Olive, H Kirwan, A Stewart, W McKenny, Mrs Street, Mers Neilly, Mrs Fergusson, Mrs Musson, Mrs Guest, Mrs Charley and Misses Cameron, E Richardson, F Richardson and Beagley. Those elected to office were: President, CT Musson, Committee: EN Street, G Collett and Rev. I Fergusson.
